not to hijack your thread but i WILL have a diy lower cost alternantive should this fail..

although this direct replacement will appeal to most because there is no work involved.

will these come w/ screens? if you need a source to supply you w/ screens for these lmk..i make perforated metal for a living..see my post "another after market grille"

i can make any size/shape/design hole w/ cad precision..i can also have the perimeter cut by cnc machinary so repeatability is perfect..

i have a few designs already

i will let you know, up to date i am still not sure if they can make a mold from the prototype grill. they were worry about the grill is a bit soft and the production grill might not fit well (the prototype grill have all the bars were removed)

as far as i know mold making is an expensive venture..even if it is only one..but this is not first hand knowledge.

if i could make a mold i would be in buisiness but it just is not practical from my standpoint as i already have a career and dont have time to sell stuff on a large scale..however i would like to offer whatever i end up w/ to solara guy members..

Guys, check this link. This is JAYDEE23's grill ideas:

http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

This gives us a good idea of what the grills will look like. I personally like it in all black with no chrome or the black mesh w/primed molding. No chrome, I'm trying to eliminate the chrome on my car and add more black.

yeah mine will be mesh overlays for the top and bottom seperately i will also have one that fits over the whole grille and this will require the removal of the center emblem

..i have not yet put one together so will not know if the center stock slots will HAVE to be cut out yet or not..

i am also trying to find the minimum % of open area required for proper cooling..
