This is not an underdrive crank pulley, it is a light weight pulley. With underdrive pulleys you have concerns like belt size, underdriving your accessories (especially alternator) and things like that. This has absolutely nothing to do with your timing and doesn't need a pro. Just pull the old off and put the new one on.
The benefit of an underdrive pulley is, it is even smaller and therefore can be even lighter, it has nothing to do with pulley rotation. This pulley is much lighter than the stock clunky metal one and therefore reduces inertia required to turn the engine freeing up hp. From what I've read from other vendors, it allows the engine to rev quicker and you get some extra hp out of it. Mine's on order!
