Problem with Fog Lights

Problem with Fog Lights

Postby HTown-Solara » Mon Nov 29, 2004 5:35 am

I keep on blowing the fuse for the fog lights every other day. I have no idea what is causing this. I'm tired of replacing the fuses every now and then. Does anyone know what is causing the fuse to blow? has anyone experienced a problem like this. Any help would be great. Thanks

I assume you are using the right size fuse, so is both of your lights working? Are they the same brightness? You may have a loose wire in there which is creating a short, which is blowing the fuse.

Yeah i agree wit "Sunrise_solara".
Could you be puttin' in the wrong fuse, check the wires of the fog lights, to see if they are touchin' any of the chassis.

on celica.net there was dude who did that too. The dude had (i think) 140-150Watt bulb, when infact our fog sockets take in 55W bulbs. Check your bulb wattages and recheck your fuse amps.

When you take the bulbs out to check the wattage like these other guys say, check for water in the connectors. You can spray them dry with air or WD-40. Then make sure you put them back on with lots of dielectric grease to keep the moisture out.

sorry for the OLD TOPIC REVIVAL.

Well ive been searching and I cant find out which fuse is for my foglight? I checked every mini fuse and did not find any blown, except for one without a "fuse amp rating" (ie. the number on the fuse). It semmed blown and its located in the engine bay fuse box. Is that where the fog light fuse is located? Does anyone know the amp rating for the fog light fuse? or where I can find a manual with the fuses and what each are for?

I have silverstars dont think its the bulbs. They use to work fine, I think i just blew the fuse when i mixed up the negative and positive while installed the HIDs. Do you know where the foglight fuse is?

It's a 15 amp fuse in the instrument panel fuse box.
