Unlocking both doors?

Unlocking both doors?

Postby LatinDragonXJC » Thu Aug 18, 2005 2:22 am

Is it possible to unlock all doors with OEM keyless remote on my 2000 Solara SLE?

It's getting kinda annoying, to be walking over, press the unlock button, you get in, and your date goes to pull the handle and has the "WTF" face on.

And yes I used the search option, it brings back a hundred different (though interesting) not what i was looking for results.....

Thanks in Advance. :lying:

Or the manual way....

When you put in the key to turn and unlock, turn the key twice... the first one is to unlock driver side, the second turn will unlock the passenger

dammm i didnt know oem keyless entry sucked that bad to make you hit it twice :-?

^^ what he said, press unlunk and wait for the beeps, then press unlock again (quickly). Toyota added this safety feature many moons ago. In the early 90's, (without remotes) if you opened your car with a key, one turn unlocked the drivers side..two turns equated to all sides open!

Early 90s!?!! My 2000 didnt come with a remote..I think it was optional on most Toyotas until MY 2002 when it became standard for a large chunk of them.

Unlocking the passenger side old school style also unlocks both doors without a double turn.

Dude i was referring to non remotes (as i said over)..from the drivers side if you turn the key once, only drivers side opens, twice= all doors unlocked. From the passanger side, all doors will be unlocked with the key. The same concept went to unlocking/locking doors w. remotes

Yeah, the "turn the key twice to unlock" worked even on my 1991 Camry.

Just press the button twice.
