I just finished cleaning the K&N air-filter I'm wondering how much oil do you guys spray on the filter?

I think just enough for a layer.
Correct if i'm wrong.
I haven't need to clean it yet.
Maybe soon it will have to come.

I just make sure that the filter gets some red.. the oil that i have has little red particles in it to show what has had new oil on it..

I do it like every 1500 cause I know that the aftermarket filters let more crap threw because its a higher flow

I think K&N says every 40k. I'd clean every 15-30k, more if you live in a dusty area (Maybe 1x a year max). K&N also says if you re-oil too much, it can kill the effectiveness of the cotton filter...I think they say no more than 20-30 times.

I think every 1500 is WAY too often in any case. Filter needs a little bit of dirt in it to work best.

The oil comes wit the cleanin' kit, that you can get from AutoZone or any auto store that carries the K&N drop in filter.
