Noob's First Mod! Yeeehaw!

That was my first self done mod too (tint was the first thing overall)

And you do have to get under the car kinda for the foglights guys

Order some new corners and get all exited about changing them and then get bummed when you find out it literally takes 3 seconds. Then you can go get the special sylvania bulbs that looks bluish silver but produce a distinct amber glow. Yeah, that'll make you happy, it did for me.

Then after that realize your car STILL isn't any faster and get bummed right quick.

welll...ppl try to get 'white lights'... which is basically the bulsb that emit a whitish blue light. thats what you do when u dont have money for HID's and wanna look modded..

cuz honestly..those white bulbs product no light atall....its like having a flshlight attached to your car.

Silverstars have a bluish tint, but also are tuned to produce more light output than a regular bulb. This is how they achieve "brighter" and "whiter". Unfortunately, this also shortens bulb life to about 1/5th of the normal Sylvania LL bulb. Theres brighter halogens made by other companies that last an even shorter time.

As long as you stick with halogen, you need to make compromises between brightness, whiteness, and longevity. Silverstars probably strikes one of the best balance between the three if you want something brighter and whiter than stock.

Ebay has silverstars cheaper.

Autozone gave me a 10 dollar rebate when i bougth mine a few weeks ago.

I had yellow bulbs before they were horrible. DIM and just depressing my new Silverstars are pure white. I like them. I can deal with them burning out more often.

Silverstars can burn out 13 times, before it equals the value of a HID kit. Hid bulb burns out, its alot more.

Ah, yes-

my next mod, actually, is a new Head Unit. I think I can probably take care of that myself. I thought I had a JBL system (I don't), so is there a separate amp I have to worry about bypassing?

Or, better yet- a trustworthy-looking guy came buy with a special tool that looked, to my noob eyes, like an icepick. He said he could put in some Speed Holes for me! Only $200! I think that's a good deal, don't you?
