All right, lemme ask a real newbie question here:

I'm getting the same code (P0135) on my 2001 V6 (non-Calif.) and want to check that Bank 1, Sensor 1 O2 sensor. I'm just not sure what I'm looking for.

I know it's near the firewall, on the driver's side of the block. But I have no clue what it looks like.

If someone can post a photo of the thing, or at least a very good description of what to do look for, I'd be grateful.

Many thanks!

Oh, and the I found one page with a PDF (http://techinfo.lexus.com/public/main/whatstis/rm.pdf) that puts the B1, S1 sensor towards the front of the car. Is it just wrong?

thats wrong... the Bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor is on the firewall side... it is inserted into that header.. .has a wiring harness that comes from it and up towards the top of the block..

It's correct for the Engine Code: 2AZ-FE , Type: 2.4 Liter , Inline four, aluminum block and head.

Cool, and thanks. I'll toss out that PDF.

So I'm looking for a thing attached to the header near the firewall, on the driver's side. It has a wiring harness.

Boy, I wish I had a photo or diagram....

Yeah remember to check the resistance after pulling the O2 sensor out to make sure that the unit is toasted before getting a new one.

Also you will need some small hands to get to Bank 1 Sensor 1 with wrench.

Small hands, no problem. I'll just get the kid in the picture to help. :)

Thanks, all!
