Get the expensive 25mm H&R spacers (you just need them for the rear) plus you need someone to install thats extra loot sorry, but thats the price of new 17" gen 2 rims. :x

My spacers cost more than both of those..15mm H&R hubcentric spacers. The difference between the two is that the second kit comes with extended studs. Honestly, its not worth it to do this upgrade unless you got money for days.

trak+ spacers are the safest way to go for spacers.

however the smallest they come in are wayyy too wide for what we need.

they are more expensive because the trak+ bolts onto the hub and has a new set of studs.

Yall are confusing him. H&R Trak+ DRS series hubcentric spacers come in 5, 15, 20, and 25mm widths, each with their own longer wheel studs.

DRS Series - 10-40mm track widening. This spacer is fitted between the wheel and hub, exchanging the existing wheel studs for longer ones. The wheels are fitted to the hub/spacer with the existing wheel nuts.

If you only need 5mm spacers you may not need to exchange your wheel studs. It depends on how many turns you can get out of your lug nuts.

I have 15mm H&R spacers from horsepowerfreaks.com and they list the 5mm set for $63.23 http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Toyota/Camry/HR/Wheels/Wheel_Spacers/part/TRAK+

You can install these yourself as well as the longer studs if you need them.

The first set you posted is not hubcentric, so it won't sit centered along the rotating axis, meaning you will have vibration due to the lopsided mass. I would suggest getting the H&R set.

I gave away my 5mm spacers to a solaradguy who bought my rims here (forget who it was). But mine were the first ones. H&R are good reputed brand. I'm not dishing them, but it depends on what you define as pricey and how you want your car to perform..my non H&R didn't lead to vibrations and were not cracked despite two years of my ownage/usage!
FYI: if your going 50+offset, 5mm is enought for your gen1, and you don't need spacers (i have gen5 xle rims on my gen4 - essentially 50+offset wheels w/o spacers). The only time i really needed spacers is when i test fit those same rims on my i4 solara (dish+drum). On my gen4 xle camry I'm w/o spacers. People told me they would look off/odd (by being too inward, but they came our perfect). So if your going the gen2 rims, test fit them, if you need spacers buy them...

Hey

Postby rossman945 » Thu Sep 15, 2005 2:23 pm

I highly dout you will need spacers for that size of a wheel. My stock ones were 215's and they didnt need spacers, but when I i got new rims the tires I put on. they were 235's and I needed spacers the the back tires because they were rubbing on the struts.

when i was using 205 (skinny) tires, i didn't need them, when i went to 215 i needed them; so there is not hard and fast rule you WILL need them. My point was try them without and if you can see em scraping or touching you know what to do next. People can tell you from what they hear thirdhand info..test it our and you decide firsthand.

Its not the size, its the offset relative to the wheel's width.

Gen2's wheels sit further in (higher offset) and will rub the strut in the back on a Gen1 without spacers
