Solara Visor - Flip, Mirror, & Light part

Postby skadoo323 » Fri Sep 16, 2005 8:18 pm

So I was cleaning my car tonight and when i went to put down the visor, suddenly the plastic flip/mirror/light part falls right off. It looks like it is stuck by some sort of krazy glue or similar glue. Has this happened to anyone else? Also do you think it all good if I just krazy glue it back? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance guys.

same thing happend to my visor. check the clips holding the visor in place, i was missing a pin, but am too lazy to change it..if the whole thing is falling apart you could glue it back i suppose..just make sure it sticks better than the last person who did it!

Mine did the same thing. It looks to me like there are screws that go into these plastic mounting holes and the plastic had cracked on mine. I haven't fixed it, not really sure how to.

well it isnt krazy glue that was originally on it. i called a local toyota dealer and spoke to someone in the parts dept and they informed me its pretty much melted plastic that surrounds those little screws. i will try some krazy glue and let you all know how it works. thanks for the fast responses! take care everyone.

I can't imagine crazy glue will be enough to hold it but definately give it a shot and let us know! Everytime I have to use my visor I feel ghetto with that ugly space there!

if you are looking for a permenant glue these will hold just about anything

1min..5min..or10min..epoxy
gorrilla glue..messy though..takes a few minutes to set also

crazy glue is limited while these are much more broad as far as use goes...

same thing happened to me the other day. the screws seemed to go bad and snap off. all i did was glue it back in. im not sure what kind of glue i used but its quite strong. make sure you glue the bronze clips on the visor or else your vanity light wont work.

just wanted to let everyone know that the glue did the trick. i applied the glue sat night, then i put a rubber band around my visor to hold the flip part down all the way. then sun night i removed the rubber band and checked everything out. all worked fine. hopefully it won't fall off again. thanks to everyone for the replies. take care guys.
