Fuel rail...?

Fuel rail...?

Postby Ian » Tue Sep 20, 2005 11:41 pm

I was wondering if anyone has checked into to whether the fuel rail for the V6 could use an upgrading?

In the same sense that Jim's fuel mod increased flow over the stock filter and lines, I think someone postulated long ago on a different site that the fuel rail might be restrictive as well. I'm not sure if that is even worth it to try and upgrade that part, but just wondering if anyone has thought about that.

You know I'd never really messed aroudn with fuel rails and/or injectors before tonight (I'm helpign a friend install his procharger on his 2004 Mach 1) and I haven't chekced out the Solara's fuel rails yet, but somehow I can see them needing an upgrad ejust knowing the way Toyota works things. Of course only necessary for boosted applications running decently high numbers with large injectors, otherwise I doubt it would matter all too much.

A while ago I looked around for fuel rails but as you could imagine, I heard the same thing we always hear, " For a Solara? Sorry, we have no plans to do anything with that". -JoeB

I was having some thoughts about changing the rail as well. Like Joe I could not find a replacement. If you find one please let me know.

Jim @ FA did a lot of research and has good knowledge of the Solara fuel system. Search some topics to find his phone #, give him a call and ask, I'm sure he'd be glad to to share knowledge.
