Chevron and Texaco merged, but they keep there respective fuel additives to themselves i.e. Techron & CleanSystem3. Chevron w/Techron is a benchmark gasoline used by many automakers including Toyota in their performance tests.

unfortunately, even though Chevron and Texaco merged, Chevron retained the rights to Techron. Bummer man, since Chevron gas is not available in MI. and is the best gas available in the United States. All OEM's use Chevron with Techron to run emmissions tests and to keep fuel injectors spotless during endurance testing.

Mobil is the best gas here with the most detergents. but still no Techron additive.

anyone have any experience with Redline SI-1 or SI-2.

update:

Texaco does have a similar gas called "System 3" most similar to Chevron's Techron.

ultimate purpose . . . to keep deposits from forming on the backs of intake valves and fuel injectors.

I mentioned that earlier. You basically just repeated everything I said in just one post.

Some people add Techron concentrate every 3 to 5 k miles. You can buy Techron concentrate at any parts store. As for other fuel additives, Berryman's makes a good one. Anything more frequent than 3k will kill the diapragm of your fuel pump and eat up your fuel filter.
