2000 Solara with alarm troubles (sounds when not armed)
Hi Gang,
I just picked up my new, to me, 2000 Toyota Solara SE. I am loving it so far but the vehicle comes with an alarm issue.
Essentially the alarm goes off whenever I enter the vehicle. It does not matter if I arm it, or lock it with the remote, it goes off no matter what I do. I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and still the problem persists.
I am not sure what exact alarm system this is, but I assume that it is stock. The alarm's pattern uses the horn, and its tones follow "short short short long short" It goes for about 30-60 seconds like this.
So - 2 questions. 1 is this something that can be easily disconnected. I can get by without the alarm. 2 is this a common issue with the 2000 Solaras? Can my dealership assist me?
Thanks!
