Im in need of a keyless entry remote and it seems that i can get one on ebay. But i see many styles including ones with trunk buttons. Im not sure if my trunk could be opend by that remote. Which remote do i need? I have a 2000 SLE if that helps. Thanks

Ive noticed my last fillup that i have gotten the worst gas mileage that i have ever had. I filled up using shell. Before that fillup i used prestone fuel treatment that supposedly cleans out everything. What could be the cause?

o so u didnt jus lose ur old one? well i would take it to the dealership and check with them to be safe. if ur car didnt come with a stock alarm then i would jus buy an aftermarket one

Yeah, you'd need a trunk that can be electronically released; the Solara has an internal trunk release controlled by a cable (which is ironic considering that my first car, a '91 Buick Century had an electronic release).

Bring your car to the dealer to see if they even had the keyless entry installed in your car before. If the previous buyer didn't buy the car with keyless entry i highly doubt you have it.

I would just go with a aftermarket alarm..

Just go aftermarket, it'll probably be cheaper than trying to get you car setup for keyless. Plus, you'll have an alarm.

yeah I've thought about making my trunk electronic and remove the key hole and cable, only way in would be with the remote button. I'm sure that would surprise thieves.

You need a FCC ID Code for your car (if it came installed with either an alarm or keyless entry). I once came across a remove with my fcc id with a trunk popper, meaning, once reprogrammed it would have worked for the arm/disarm, but i would need to add a soiniod to make the trunk popper work..needless to say, i think i sold it to a member here.
Bottomline: isolate your fcc id code, once you have that figured out, seek our remotes from ebay w/ your fcc id and buy from there and ask the seller for programming instrucitions...ususally they print them out when they sell you the remote!

I don't know about others opinion on Shell but they don't last as long as 76 and Chevron

I dont think the gas mileage problem is with which companies gas you use but how your driving habits are and or if you are driving city or hwy more.

I use shell gas and chevron and with both i get about 350 to 375 miles to the tank. 14 gallons per fill up. I drive allot of hwy so obviously i get more mileage due to that. I get a avg. of 26 miles per gallon.

But if i were to drive more city which i use to i would only get about 300 miles to the tank. So you can see the diff. I would ocassionally gun it and have some fun... If you have a lead foot you will obviously eat up more gas..
