Yep sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. I've done it many times myself.

Looks like CC just lost another customer for a while eh?

that1mexguy wrote:yeah im trying to do that but now they are arguing that if i return it, i wont get the labor charge back... it's kinda shady i think because it sounds like they were just trying to do a sale without really knowing what tha heck and now i get to pay for their mistake/or lack of knowledge :-?

first off, $49 for that extra part is a VERY good deal. most likely if it's a DEI transponder bypass unit (555U, or 555X) then that part usually retails for about $65. the cost price is about 50 bucks, so these guys aren't rippin' you off.

as an installer, it's a rule to not give back the labor charges. i've had instances where people will want a perfectly good system removed for no damn reason at all, and that's where that policy comes in effect. PLUS, it's DOUBLE the work for the installer who must now remove all the crap he just put in. i've done that before, and trust me it aint all shits and giggles...

yeah i know i wasnt being ripped off as far as pricing, but here is the thing... the guy selling me the stuff should've checked what was all necessary so I get an idea of how much i was going to spend to see if it was within my budget, but instead, it seemed like he just wanted to make a sell withouth really knowing what he was selling. Then they tell me that for the inconvenience, they would install it for free.. well I called 3 other Circuit City's and the price included installation, so do dont tell me you are hooking me up when you really arent. And having to go back to the place after work sucks because it's out of my way to go home, and with traffic it really sucks, that's pretty much why I was mad, i want to make only 1 trip and not having to come over and over. Anyway, they let me have the piece for $25 and free install so I guess it worked out pretty good.
