Rear disc brake.....

Rear disc brake.....

Postby SleeperSolara » Tue Nov 08, 2005 8:49 am

Well i've tried and tried like foreva, an can't get the rear passenger brake disc off.
It like it jammed or stuck on there.
It won't budge, i've even takin'a rubber mallet, and hit on the open part of the brake dust shield on the brake disc, and it still won't budge.
How do i get it off.
I need rotors soon too.
Thanks.

No the space between the brake shield.
Not hittin' the shield at all.
I've tried to bang the crap out of it wit a rubber hammer, and it not budgein'.
It like someone bang the crap out of it to put it on.
Probably take it some where to try to take it off.
It like some someone hammered the thing to stay on there.
Will try this weekend again. :-?

have a shop loosen it for you. I spent hour upon hour and a lot of sweat and blood trying to get a bolt loose out of the rear lower control arm of my 5th gen civic. I ended up trying to drill it out but it's hardend metal. Ended up taking it in and having it yanked out for $90. It was worth it in the respect that I could finish my project of installing lowering springs but wasn't worth in in the respect of me spending 60 more and never touching the car and having a aftermarket shop do the whole thing.

Sometime's we have to suck in our pride and just pay for it to be worked on. :(

disc. brakes

Postby Gregtrd » Wed Nov 09, 2005 11:08 pm

you guys are funny, there should be two holes with threads on the disc. which should take 12mm bolt. find or buy two bolts and tighten little bit at a time and the disc. should pop when it breaks loose, no need for baging. no offence on the fuuny remark. im going to double check with my car.

If Im correct theres suppose to be two bolt holes on the rotor. If you find two correct size screw you can screw into it and push that will push the rotor out. Some cars have that.
