Do 235/40R-18 tires fit our Solara? I know the suggested tire width for the Solara is 225.

Thanks

I hope this helps ...

(Sorry about the small size, I'll work on it.)

235-40-18 is actually the best diameter fit, but it might be too wide and rub in the rear, if your offset is either too low or your dropped.

It's hard to predict whether it would rub or not, but I would suggest you stick to 225 unless youve shaved your rear fenders and your running around 35+ offset (assuming 8" wide rim).

I am running 235/40/18's on 18x7.5 rims and The only rubbing I get is when I hit a good dip or whoopdy doo in the road, but I think that is a suspension flaw in my ride...ie some old struts that need replacing! But I dont get any rubbing driving, the tires just rub up in the fenders on bumps.

I've seen 20's on a '99 solara at a car show once. However, i talked to them and they said they couldn't have people in the back seat at all. I doubt it was very driveable.

I've got 19x8.5 with 235/35/19 +35. I easily rolled the rear fenders myself. :D No rubbing issues now...
