PLEASE HELP...Auto climate control C to F?

PLEASE HELP...Auto climate control C to F?

I just bought a new Solara, and my Auto Climate Control always shows me Celcius. I know the math to figure out what it would be in Fahrenheit, but I'd rather not have to think too much while enjoying my new car. SO if you know how to change the Celcius to Fahrenheit please get back to me.

darkmarine > Gen1's also have climate control; I have one.

JellyRoll > I know how to get it to test the controls through the Hayne's manual, but not how to change it. Keep in mind that there's no JDM Solara (although I wish there was), so don't worry about ANYTHING being in Japanese (nice try, Mole ), and the owner's manual doesn't have it (I was bored and wanted to see if it'll change to C).

Dealer

Postby thejellyroll » Tue Nov 22, 2005 10:26 pm

I even talked to the dealership and the tech knew that it's possible, but said he'd have to get back to me. That was 3 days ago. I know I'm impacient but I get to be. I believe it'd be the same as the normal camery and I'm in the process of finding a manual to one. And I believe I have gen 1, don't I. I'm new to this but I have a 2001.

Don't worry anymore

Thanks to all who attempted at this one. I talked to about 10 dealerships around my area and what ever I found on switchboard, and no one knew. One place gave me the customer care number to Toyota and they confirmed it that it's not possible to change the preset setting. the car either comes equiped with c or f, not able to change. Toyota doesn't have very smart programers, but what ever. I love the car otherwise. and I'll just set it at a 25 deg. C which is 77 deg F, so I won't have a problem staying around that as my marker. Again thanks

You can probably go down to your local junkyard and get a new climate control with fahrenheit... It's the same as changing your radio player (if not a lot easier)... Remove the 4 screws, pluck out the plugs in the back, replace and you're done... I had to take out the climate because a couple of dimes were dragging in the tray and making a nasty sound every time I tried to open it (don't know its real use, but I use it as a cellphone holder).

The junk yard idea is great. Thanks. I didn't buy it in canada, but I'm guessing it came from there. I'm the 3rd owner of this vehicle.

If if did come from Canada, is your speedometer primarily in Km/h or MPH (but then again someone could've swapped that)?
