Gauging interest for Big brake kits...

Sup guys, and gals...

I know Im kinda new here, but since being here, I know we are all into performance.. :drinking:

With that said, for those of you who dont know, Ericsol doesnt make the caliper relocation kits anymore, and you can find them on here for sale from time to time. :fadein:

I personally bought a set, and managed to find a machine shop to replicate them...

Thing is... I wanna create a big brake kit.... I have the options, but no set price as of yet. But I figured I would let you guys know, just to gauge interest, I can get the caliper brackets made for you, and I can even get them anodized if you like. :o

So while I work madness in my laboratory... think about it, lemme know what you think about the idea. :evilbat:

Im thinking about using wilwood calipers with Ikuta, or Brembo rotors in the package. Once I get all the details sorted out, I will make an announcement, and if I can get 10 people to purchase, I may be able to produce more later on.

Stay safe, and drive fast...

URD has StopTech kits they are discounting now. 4 piston floating calipers offered in 3 colors and slotted rotors. I think it's about $1600 with free shipping right now. Contact them. They may give you an even better price. That is unless you're trying to keeps cost down and that's why you want to fabricate this.

I believe that I might be able to bring it in under $1k, or just at that. But Like I stated, I will first create my personal package, post piks, and if there is an interest.... I can possibly create more, as long as it is more than 10 orders (Machine shop wont make less than 10 at a time).

Urd has the packages, but why not have something more original, and still have nice components to show for it?

I also have a pure race package in mind.... more to come on that, dont have all the details worked out yet.

if you are talking about the big rotor kit (supra disc), someone already made it awhile ago and some people here has it. if you are talking about complete brake kit (such as 2+ Pistons, rotor, bracket,) then it is different story

same concept as the one from before, in fact same bracket... just that Im actually going to try and build it with 4 piston calipers, and probably different rotors, they will be the same 13" in diameter though.

and the price I had mentioned previously is pending the outcome of my kit.

17" rims is the minimum...

Since I've got the bracket and slotted rotors, would I be able to just buy the calipers?

Dont mean to jack your thread but.

I have Ericsol's kit and I want to get rid of it.

Its the brackets w/hardware and rotors. Used for about 1k miles.
If interested PM me.

Dio-
Some other thoughts. Many folks live where there is snow and use 15&16 inch wheels. Anyone else feel free to chime on this b/c I am not sure of the feasibility. Keeping the stock size rotors but upgrading the calipers to 2 or 4 pistons for more clamping force. I am not sure if this can be done with 15s but 16s seems very possible. The compounds of the rotors and pads would play or more critical part to generate more grip and of course the rotors applying more pressure is the biggest advantage. I realize that larger surface area and more clamping force is best case scenario but......
This would allow for more people to get in on it especially if it could be around $1000.
Just throwing it out there~
After all MOST folks also don't autocross thier camry/solara and shouldn't be racing like indy drivers anyway.

Wow..

Gerard, you must have read my mind man.. lol

My car currently has 16 inch wheels, stock SLE.

Once I have all the parts, my intentions are to see how the components fit on a stock setup. The possibility of this being available in form of a package is very high, all depending on the fit, the look, and definitely the performance factor.

As for just getting the calipers for an already existing kit.... Still have to see if it will fit properly, and once I do that, I will post piks, and once I have tested it thoroughly, expect another thread offering packages.
