Keyless Entry Programming Instructions

Keyless Entry Programming Instructions

Postby drock03 » Tue Nov 22, 2005 7:27 pm

I have 2 questions:

1- Are there any 2000 Solaras without keyless entry remotes? I purchased my car without them, but believe it came equipped with them.

2- Anyone have the programming instructions handy to share? I've gotten a variety of instructions on line but nothing has worked

Most of the 2000 SLE came with keyless entry, you can go to the dealer to make sure.
Heres how to program it
http://solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19503
and one lock, unlock is 1 cycle so you have to do that 5 times thats a mistake i did. Good Luck.

Buy your remote off ebay. I got one off ebay for like 15 bucks. It also came with programing instructions. I think they are the same at that old thread.

Still having a problem programming the keyless remotes for my car. Toyota faxed me the exact programming instructions, but still no luck. What confuses me is that I have the "Security" red light that flashes on the dash board above the tach needle which leads me to believe this car does have keyless entry. Is there such thing as having the security system but no keyless remote? Any help would be appreciated. This key in the door thing sucks!

I can't believe it worked

You know I realy didn't think that would work. But to save $45 per key to program I would have pat my head if he had it in the instructions. I had the key programed in 2 min tops. Thank you who ever posted the code. I'm very greatful.

Maybe I'm stupid, or maybe my car is, but I cant get my 04 Solara SLE to go into program mode. I have followed the directions to a T, and still no luck. The posted directions match the ones that came with my key fob that I bought off of ebay. What could I possibly be doing wrong, or is my car just being difficult? Thanks for any help.

Maybe your doing the cylce wrong. Like you lock it then unlock it you might think thats two cycles but its not thats only 1 cycle so you have to do 1.lock, unlock, 2. lock, unlock, 3. lock, unlock, 4.lock unlock 5. lock, unlock.

I thought I was cycling it wrong too, but i did lock, unlock as 1 cycle- did it 5 times. Maybe i'll try the other directions and see if they work.

Just a note to everyone- in order to program a key fob for a 2004+ solara, you have to use the first set of directions- the ones that dont list the solara. I tried it and it worked right away.

I tried the remote program instructions for my '99 Solara, and it seemed to enter program mode, but the door locks cycled twice instead of once. It didn't accept the new remote either. Has anyone else run into this issue?

I don't know the answer to your question, but report the dealer to the better business bureau. At least others will be warned.

Maybe if you tell them you are going to do it, they break down and give you a ky.
