It's true, the check just came in today. The RedKnight and all of my parts are packed up and ready to be transported to Gabe. Congrats Gabe and enjoy, she's a BLAST!
For those that ask why, I've been being pulled for a while. I really miss RWD! Since the new Mustang came out it's been calling me. My first car when I was a kid (many years ago) was a 67 Mustang GT Fastback (not Shelby - regular GT). I'm looking forward to fixing that car up and having a little fun with it. The Solara is a great car! I'm sure going to miss it! The lack of after-market support was just frustrating me so bad I had to give up. I was not near the target I hoped to get to and felt I had hit a wall.
The car is in great hands and as I mentioned before is easily capable of mid 12s. I can't think of many people more qualified to get it there than Gabe. Letting go of the car was a very difficult decision that was not done hastily. No "morning after" thoughts, it took a while to make the decision. The car was never publicly available. I don't think I could let it go to just anybody. I've put countless hours and care into it. There's a little pride there retiring the car as the fastest street Solara on record. It certainly won't be long until that record has been beaten though.
The next project is all about enjoyment for me, no competition. I'm going to love (and already am) going from 1 end of the spectrum where aftermarket support is almost unheard of to one of the MOST supported platforms. Just since the 2005 Mustang was released, there are like 7 options for forced induction! So many decisions, so much money to spend.

I'm not saying I won't race it, there will be some exhibition runs at the track. I'm hoping to push it into the 11s short term with 10s as a long term goal.
As for hanging out here, I'll be very honest. I work many hours and travel a lot. With a new car and so much to learn and research to do, I will probably focus on the Mustang forums. It's nothing personal, you guys are great. It's just the truth. It's like when you brake up with a girl (or guy - girls) and you say, "we can still be friends". You never see each other again... Best regards to all of you. -JoeB
