Figured I'd let you guys know about this. My shop works closely with Megan Racing, and they approached me to test out a design. They're asking me to throw them on, dyno, and let them know what the story is.

We just got them in today and they're beautiful!! They sent the Y pipe and hi flow cat as well, all pretty and polished. Solid welds, solid flanges, very very clean.

I'll get some pics when I can, and I'll post the numbers next Friday!!!

considering that on their website, v6 headers are about 350 dollars, this is really exciting!

I wonder if they'll pass CA smog tests... since they're not removing the cat... maybe they will?

It looks like the Y goes from 3" to abt 2.5," then the heads look like they're around 2.25." I like the sizing of the Y, but they didn't completely get rid of the 90 degree bend, which is one thing I'll be telling them.

CARB, I dunno. Yes on the double flange.

This is what they sent me, I don't know final pricing and packaging. Looking at their site, a hi-flow cat/resonator is $100, Y is around $200, and heads on the site are $350ish. Seeing this package retail for around $700 wouldn't be horrible, depending on whether or not there's a gain.

I'm very very impressed with the quality of construction and materials.

Well, that's a shame... I'd love to hear the throatiness of headers, but it would be a headache keep in storage the OEM Headers and swap them back in for a smog check. And for a couple of horsepower? I don't know what headers do in the V6 Solara...

But when I had the v6 MX-6, all that could be expected from headers was 5-6 hp max.

Ask them to get busy on the Gen 2 next! We've got nothing and the design sucks so bad that we have lots of HP hiding in the exhaust. Everyone w/ a clue about such things has spotted that when they look under the hood. (does not include me though... I just nod.)

will gen 1.5 be given the green light, and more importantly, will the headers fit the 2003 application? ive heard that JPP have had some trouble being able to fit their headers to a 2003 application but anything below that was ok.

I can't imagine these going for as much as the JPP's are. I've been told that they're expecting between 10-15 hp for NA applications, but that seems high to me - thats closer to what I'd expect to see on a supercharged platform. I know it would take at least that to get me to drop $7-800 on these things.

They haven't mentioned anything abt the 03 model to me or my guys, they're billing these just as Gen 1. They have asked me to make a list of recommendations, so I'll have that on there. Do you know what the problem JPP had with the 03? Gen 4 Camry, I have no idea, I haven't really looked at one to any great length to see the differences.

I should have some pics up by next Wednesday or so, then many many more once I install them/dyno on Friday the 2nd.

Just to make it clear, I don't work for Megan, they're not asking me to sell these. They've stepped up and mailed cross-country a very close to production quality product, which pending fitment I'm getting to keep free. Labor is free through my shop sponsorship, all it's costing me is $100 or so for the dyno pulls. My goal is to help them provide a quality product. If you guys can think of anything you want me to tell them let me know and I'll do what I can!

Bill, IM me later.... I think I can get you a really good price on the knocks.

That should be done by Wed, I'm waiting for the fuel mod to come in first. I should have you look at these things, you have a Gen 4 right?
