yep its happened 3 times in the last couple of weeks.....

i start up and it idles at 200 rpm....any ideas?

200? do u mean 2000? i dont think ur car would be able to run at 200 rpms it would shut off

yes completely normal..this has been cobered a few times since i have been here..will run 180-20 for a few minutes to warm up..

you guys GOTTA be talking about 2000rpm's... it does that for a few minutes to speed up the warm up process... dont rev it... just let it do that for a couple mins and itll drop back down to normal after the engine is warm.

at 180-200 i dont think any engine can stay idling :lol:

hmmm.....maybe check your hoses, one of them could be torn or disconnected. I assume the check engine light turns on ??

nope no problems of any kind just about 5-10 times a week it wont start then it starts to 200 rpm and shuts off then i try a couple more times and it evenutally starts

Clean the throttle body ... been covered before ... look in the tutorials.

Id check hoses and maybe spark plugs if your at 60K+ and never changed em. Happened to me a few times after I changed my intake due to a loose hose.

Yeah, Check those hoses around the tb and around the manifold. You can always do the "WD-40" test. You spray the suspected hose that you might think the leak is coming while the engine is turned on.
If you notice a change in the engine (RPM Fluctuation) or if you notice to see the leak by the little bubbles created, then you found your problem. Even the tedious of vac leaks can cause your problem. Check very carefully! Hope that helps! 8)
