Missay, if u really think about it, trying to keep the bid down on an item is almost impossible. I mean, the seller could just have his/her friend bid on the item for sale to bring the price up to what they want. I'm sure this is what they do, especially on an item with no reserve. And if they didn't do it, they're obviously not making as much $$ as they could be.

great lights

Postby Guest » Mon Jan 20, 2003 10:59 am

i think the altezza lights are one of the best things to happen to the solara. Ever since i got minei tried looking for altezza lights. i have had my car for over a year and i had to wait for the lights. its about time companies start realizing that there is a market for solora upgrades. That is one of the main reasons why companies don't go after the solora market. they read about all these poeple wanting somethine new for thier car. These lights might just be the step we need. If poeple show support for little things like this, who knows the next thing to come out could me a turbo, some cams, manifold, and ect. Plus, everyone of you wants to have the sickest car. You want to be driving down the street and poeple turn heads. You want poeple to notice and even though we don't want to admit it, you want poeple to be like damn i wish i was that guy in that car. so for my vote, those lights are going on my car.

well..yea :D . but let's say there are clear corners for 25 bucks. ok..so bidder A comes and bets 25bucks on them and there's still 5days left. the bid is at $25 still.

now, this only works if there's only bidder A and B.
bidder B comes by at day 2 and sees that bidder A has put down $25, but no one else seems to be competing w/ him. he's just chillin, waiting for the last couple of days to end so he wins. he probably checks back every so often, to make sure other people haven't bidded.

soooo...if you are bidder B, what do you do?
well, you don't bid on day 2 when it's 25bucks, b/c the first guy will see that and will then bid you out. so then you'd come back, outbid him again..etc etc. eventually it gets to like 30bucks or to the point where no one wants to pay.

soooooo...as bidder B you don't bid, and save the page. then about 1min before the bid ends (i like to make it exciting and wait like 30secs :D ) you put in your bid and bingo..as long as the scenario works out..you got some clear corners for a pretty penny

orrrrrr...if you really want to win a bid, regardless of money, just wait for 30secs before it ends and then put in your bid. unless the other guy has the same logic and beats you by a couple of seconds, you're almost guaranteed to win the bid.

hey, i have yet to lose an ebay battle!! :evilbat:

eeeeeeeeee...another perfect example of why NOT to bid on a new item, b/c there will always be another one cheaper later, that no one else is bidding on, that you can wait to get at the last minute w/ out the price being too high :D

the real scary part..this means there will be AT LEAST 7 solaras on the road now somewhere in the world w/ those lights :o

they'd look better as headlights, not tail lights though. if they made them for our headlights, i might consider, but not tail. our tails are perfect!

ehhh..i'm gonna have to disagree w/ you guys and say that i like the non carbon fiber ones better.

you know what i think it is...the non fiber ones look more feminine and the carbon ones look more masculine.

Well, I like the carbon fiber version. It would really look good on a black Solara IMO.

When i first got my solara, almost two years ago, i was dying to find some altezza lights for it but now i think that they are played out and rice. If they came out with this a long time ago when the whole "Altezza" scene was fresh alot more people would want them. However, i just saw the carbon fiber ones and i dont think they look to bad. Just my opinion.
