24/7 headlights

How can I turn off my headlights? They are always on. Sometimes I would like to run my corners and fogs together without the headlights on. I now know how to do the independent fogs, but need this to make it all work the way I want it to work.

Just a vague memory... just disconnect the DRL sensor? I think that was posted somewhere around here...

Under the hood on the passenger side, there is a gray plug. That is the DRL connection.......if you disconnect that your headlights will only come on automatically at night and not during the day.

Theres also other ways of disconnecting it the way you want.....just use the "Search" function.

SEARCH

if your two lazy to search disconect the gray plug in the engine bay and for you to have TOTAL control get the little black sesor on the passanger side by the windshield pry it up and disconect the little sensor and youll HAVE to turn on the lights manually from now on :)

To add to that, you can also disconnect the fuse near the battery.
There will be a fuse box that will be in front of the battery.
Open it up and look the underside of the the cover and it will say which one is the DRL.
I think it is a red one.....

Yes searching on this site can be difficult. I just tried a search knowing key words in threads about it and got nothin.

To disable the DRLs and nighttime auto sensors, IMO the easiest way is cutting the ground wire in the harness for it just behind the ingnition.

It takes a little working with to do it, but it's a sense of accomplishment and works just fine once you do it.

This page should tell you everything you need to know if you want to go that route.

The only proper way would be to buy a Solara with the option of the DRL switched to auto or left off.

Otherwise it'll be the ways we've all done it by unplugging the gray plug in the enginebay & on the dashboard, popping the fuse out the fuse box or actually splicing wires to disable the DRL. 8)

How did you decide to disable the DRL if you haven't already by the way ? ?
