does the black fade over time?

What about polished?
does it get really dull over time?

Polish gets a little dull but mainly dirty. . . Just clean it and if you want you can just buy some liquid metal polish and it will look really shiny again

Yes... The black fades to a brownish black color over time. And yes, once scratched the surface finish is a sight for sore eyes. :-?

I am still going to buy the black intake... mostly because I don't plan on modding much, so it would look odd to have just one chrome piece coming out of nowhere.

and who cares if it fades or scratches? it still serves its purpose.... unless you're going for the show, then that's different
