TRD RSB creakin'.....

TRD RSB creakin'.....

Postby SleeperSolara » Tue Nov 29, 2005 8:32 am

So of you know and some of you don't know; that i installed my new TRD RSB wit my Greddy Evo.
Well the weather just got f-in' cold like a mofo.
Well yesterday in the mornin' i was drivin' and it didn't creak.
Well after school and stoppin' by some places, it started to creak really bad.
I thought it was somethin' else..... But everythin' it all tight and neat.
It creaks on the left side of the car.
I lubed up the poly mounts wit half of the tube each side they gave me.
So does it sound like the TRD RSB wit out lube creaks instead of squeks????
If it is the the TRD RSB where can i get some of the poly lube to lube those mounts again.
Thanks.

Any automotive place will have white lithium grease.
Make sure you also check your sway bar links. A few days ago I started hearing a noise I thought was my sway bar or a strut mount, but it turns out my drivers side sway bar link needs to be replaced. Just push up on the links where they connect to the sway bar and make sure you don't hear any noise

Use teflon tape and the grease others are recommending. The squeeking first happened when I had the RSB installed in 2000. After using the tape with the grease, the RSB hasn't squeeked since then. Problem solved.

You can get the teflon tape at home depot or a place like that for a buck.

Can't hurt, try it!

I hope its not a cold weather thing causes it to squeak. Its been getting really cold in Ohio and I just installed one like two months ago.

The bar will turn black for 2 weeks with rain and snow if you wrap around the whole bar...all these dirts...lol :drinking:

I don't think that the heavy weight would affect it.
The weather here in OKC does change very fast, and it did change from 1 day to the next.
It seemed that the weather was fine in the mornin' as in warm weather, then after school about 12 it got chilly, and cold.

I meant it wouldnt hurt to wrap teflon tape around the bar were the mounts are clamped over it. But yeah i guess the white teflon tape would turn black from all the snow if you you wraped the whole bar.

^^^ You wanna hear something funny. The cold weather got to my rear sway bar too. It was creaking everytime I hit a bump or when I was taking sharp turns. I was gonna let it go cause its too cold out to mess with it. Its been doing it now for about two weeks. Well it started to get worse so I descided to apply more grease to it after I got off work today, to see if it would stop. Sure enough that was the problem. Im just so pissed off right now cause it took my about 20mins to drop it down and regrease it. Then it took me like 1.5hours to get it back on. With all that tension on the bar, a slightly crooked bracket, and working agaisnt gravity to get that screw back up up there, it was a bitch. It just reminds me how much I hate doing the simplist things that can be so hard. Stupid problems like that just make me never want to continue modding my car. :x But Im sure ill come around cause Im just venting cause it took me so long.
