Wider Solara?

Here we go. This is still a work in progress. I ran out of money about 2 years ago when I got laid off of my job and had to take some low paying jobs just to make ends meet. I have a good paying job now and I'm going to start trowing a lot more money at my car. Here are the mods so far.
2001 Solara SE V6 manual transmission:
-Supercharger
-7psi pulley
-Custom made exhaust (Y-pipe back- this is no good anymore. JPP on the way)
-Custom designed Y-pipe (Flex pipe in bad position - keeps cracking)
-3" plumbing all around
-Hi-flo cat
-Magnaflow muffler
-Apexi SAFCII
-Denso Iridium IK22s
-LSD
-MSD Ignition boost (spark assistor)
-Redline 5W-20 oil
-K&N high performance air filter
-K&N high performance oil filter
-Removed battery from front and placed behind rear seats (True CAI to go where battery used to be)

If I post pics, it really wouldn't be all that impressive... yet. Its still looks pretty stock.
When I say I want 500 ponies, I say that because its just a nice round number. I bought the Solara because it was the sportiest car (that I liked) that I could afford at the time. I special ordered it from the factory. It has everything I want and nothing I don't want. This is *my* car. I love my Solara and want to keep it many years to come. I just want it to be more aggressive. I don't mind throwing more money at it. I'm even considering getting the gold handled short shifter from TWM Performance http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftknobs ... -knob.html
I mentioned I wanted to beat a 2006 Z06. I just threw that out because I've always liked Corvettes. I just meant I wanted to put my Solara in the Super Car bracket.
Money is not an issue. I don't want to sound like I have a ton of money, but I do have a ton of time. I'm in no hurry and I wouldn't mind if this project takes a couple of years. I want to make my Solara a Super Solara with attention to every detail. This is a *long-term* project. I want the best engine (1mz-fe rebuilt from Stoid). Best sound system - which I didn't mention I have a top-of-the-line Alpine deck and Diamond Audio speakers all around. Best suspension possible. I want this car to be as much fun to drive as possible. Driving bliss if you will
Looking into the future, I want to complete all steps as if it is already a super car. I don't want to get 225 tires and then have to rebuy 275s later. As I said, I'm looking at this as a long-term project. New JPP exhaust, Brembo Brakes with Frozen Rotors rotors, Jim@foreignaffairs fuel system, OZ Superleggera III wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, Rebuilt engine by Stoid. Sparco Modena seats... you get the idea. All of this will be expensive and there is no way I could get all of this in a month. I'm planning on 500 horses (like I said, a nice round number, but wouldn't be ashamed of 450hp) and I want everthing else to be able to handle it (unbreakable). Such as wider front tires.
Ok this is already too long of a post. I hope you get the idea. Hopefully, this will be complete in about 2 years. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Man, that's an impressive list. I've got pretty much all of those mods, with exception of the 7lb pulley. I'm sticking with 5.5, since I don't plan on building my internals. Good luck, I hope you can make this happen. I was thinking about going all out, but after hearing of all the pain and frustration that Rizal and JoeB went through, I changed my mind. I'm hoping in the next couple of years will see another Supra...but I do plan on keeping the Solara, so I can have a awesome 2nd car

How does a post like this benefit anybody? All you are saying is that I'm all wrong and you are smart. Well, I need to ask for an explaination. The idea of these message boards is to learn from one another. I didn't learn anything from this post other than you trying to talk down to me.
"I can not make 450hp with the direction I'm headed?" What direction is that? I don't even know what direction I'm headed. I haven't even taken my car to an engine builder yet.
"Take the supercharger off"? Why would I want to do that? NHRA top fuel dragsters (most powerful engine on the planet) use superchargers. Why can't I?
Why would I need 600hp to compete with another vehicle that only has 500hp?
If I am wrong, ok. I'll take any criticism, but please explain why I am wrong. Don't just say no and end it there.

What he was trying to say was that 2 members have gone this route, JoeB and Rizal. They've both got fully built engines and e-management systems and they maxed out their s/c's. I know Joe (auto) got his up to around 13psi (with 10lb pulley) with a 75 shot of nitrous and he dynoed at 315fwhp - I know manuals would get more. I think he probably could've got more, but with the heat from the charger he was just loosing power. Unfortunately, being auto his beefed up tranny from level 10 and it still couldn't take it. Joe has sold his car and moved on.
For Rizal (manual), after feeling he maxed out his charger, he went the turbo route. Although, he's had his problems, which I believe are cpu related. Check out his thread, a lot of info on his problems, http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19057&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=90

Either way you go, be prepared for a lot of headaches. But, just from watching these guys for so long, I think turbo would get you more power. Anyways, this is a pretty good post on more s/c boost and issues along with it.

Where are you driving the car that you are experiencing such a problem? City and state roads aren't designed to let high performance cars "snap" off the line. If you are having this problem on a drag strip then your tires may be too cold off the line. Try an extended water burn out before you make your pass to warm em' up, that should help quite a bit. You may also want to switch to a softer compound tire. While they will have a short life span, they will help you to put all the power to the ground. If you are still having problems, then buy drag tires, wheels, tubes, and screws. With the drag tires you will have a sidewall which car wrinkle rather than the tire slipping over the ground, helping to put more or all of your power to the ground. The screws will keep them from spinning off the wheels.

Oh, by the way you can get more power to the wheels by removing EVERY non-essential part of the car (loose the spare tire and get AAA, remove the back seats, remove all of the plastic panels, ect.). Even better would be to lighten the reciprocating mass the engine has to face to overcome inertia (lighter pistons, rods, crank, flywheel, cv shafts, brakes, and wheels). Lightening the reciprocating mass will not only allow more power to get to the wheels more easily, but will raise your redline as well (goodbye 6500, hello 8500)!!! F= m * (V^2/r) and F=(m*a) lower m (mass) = lower F (force) on the moving parts!!
