Clock, Replacement 2001

Postby Omes01SLE » Sun Dec 04, 2005 8:07 am

I have a 2001 SLE and My Clock stopped working the other day, and I've checked both fuse locations (dash and engine) and the fuses are fine.

How do I go about removing the clock? Do I need to remove the entire center console (radio/heater) area or can I just remove the clock.

any help would be most appreciated.

thanks.

great, thanks - that's a releif. How do I go about take out the trim around the center console? I took a look and don't see any screws or clips (the car has an aftermarket wood trim on the center console, so I don't know if that's hiding any of the screws/clips or not)

no screws. just stick a screwdriver(flat head works best) in tht crack near the cd player. play around with it and the whole piece should come out.

Or you can take the ash tray out and pull on the bottom and it will come out.

this is the correct method..you need to remove the ashtray and lighter. put your fingers inside the bottom corners of the black trim and give it a good tug..it will pop out of the clips. the remainder of the trim is also held in by clips. just move up and continue to pull.

do not use a screw driver in any part of removal as it will leave marks in your plastic if you are not ectremely careful and it is unecessary

no offense to any who volunteered help..

after the trim is removed you will need to push in the little buttons on the clips of the clock and heating controls and pull the wire harness out. as for the clock i dont know but i cant be much work from this point

to reinstall just do above in reverse
