True... Though I think it's different products for different markets. Just like how you can replace your muffler and spend $90 or $450.

Did anyone get one of the half price kits? I'm curious to hear the results.

I have talked to CP-E and will be doing the half price deal to see if what they developed for the Gen 1 will work properly on the Gen 1.5. I'm going to get the programmable one, so that I have flexibility in the event of further modifications and in the interest of being able to fine tune. Anyone selling a supercharger? I know I missed out on a couple recently.

I hope it works. I'll let you know how it goes. This will be my first modification under the hood.

PS - According to Josh at CP-E, they are also considering doing headers for the 1MZ-FE Solara. Or possibly just a less-restrictive y-pipe back system, depending on interest.

The thing that is worrying me is the short ram. . . yes there is a heat shield but that can only do so much. . . I wonder how well it can hold up its power after sitting on the redlight on those hot summer days. . . After years of experiance with modding cars and asking people with experiance. . . CAI is the way to go no doubt. . . I need to talk to those guys more about stuff like that

I here you on the cold air intake thing but I have yet to see a cold air intake net 17whp all by it self. Even in freezing temperatures.

This is a really good question, and one I will be posing to them. Of course, with the 3.5" pipe, it's not possible to route a CAI out of the engine bay the way it has been done with the extension so far. It would have to be routed differently, or sheet metal cut maybe? I agree it's worth pursuing, but there doesn't seem to be an easy solution.

Good luck GreenHornet. Can't wait to hear the results. (Oh... and don't steal our headers! Gen2 needs them first!)

They did one set of headers so far that isn't out yet. I shared the photos and write up with "a king of the exhaust industry" and he had good things to say.

Well this isnt a normal intake. . . you have to remember it has a tuned MAF. . . A lot of people tend to look at it as a really expensive intake but never see what they really give you
