Check Engine Light

Check Engine Light

Postby SirMacDaddy » Tue Dec 06, 2005 3:33 pm

Can anyone tell me the possible reasons why the check engine light would come on? This is the second time it has happened to me in about a 6 month period...when i first bought the car, and drove it home, it came on and then this morning it came on....is there a way to fix it. When i took it in, it was $160 to fix the oxygen sensor? is that worth it?

Help please...

160 bucks!! i had the same thing happen. most check engine lights are emissions stuff. mine was the 02 sensor aswell and guess what? it just went away. i think i blew some buildup on the sensor off. i would try cleaning it or blowing it off.

if in fact it is the o2 sensor then yes its worth fixing, unless you dont care if your car runs like crap. take it to auto zone and have them run a diagnostic test on it.
