Mandarinsolara wrote:nvm, if your guy does it right you can gain some hp actually

theres a happy medium between how much cooling effect you want and how much parasitic drag you want to put on the rotating assembly

new bet, gains will not be above 20hp with this unit alone

now what does your pocketbook say?

im going to guess that the hp gain depends on what pulley you are running... also.. you don't even have a S\C...

when it comes to customization, gains are only as deep as your wallet... this could be huge.. and its a great thing and I support this mod.. this could be amazing pending results

thank god i dont have a supercharger

yes the gain will differ with boost setting

where 4 psi - the intercooler could net you about 8hp, the intercooler could net you more like 40 or 50hp at 30psi+

the chemistry still doesnt add up in my opinion though, subtract 10-15hp from increased rotating assembly strain, and add maybe 20-25hp from the cooling effect

this is not a large front mount guys, its a big meshed up chunk that bottle necks up the already tiny supercharger volume.

the only thing i like about it, is that the boost isnt going to be all swirly going into your heads from the screws

kinda like this

Re: TRD Supercharger Liquid Intercooler

For working purposes, he does have a Solara at his expense. Also, the cooler will go out front. I've sent pics to show my present cooler locations and the guy working my car here in AZ is on the phone with him daily.

As we, all know the major problem with our TRD Supercharger is heat. Running anything other, the stock pulley and the heat increase can quickly get to the point where you loose instead of gain performance.

Several times, there has been discussion about an intercooler for our application but that is where it started and stopped. Well I decided to do something about it. I purchased a new TRD SC and sent it to a gentleman who is in the process of modifying my SC to accommodate a liquid intercooler.

More to follow!!

Awesome Greg!
One question. It is not difficult for a reputable company fimiliar with forced induction to intercool our trd s/c. They will have your supercharger but will not have your car??? They can produce the most efficient cooler out there but if it doesn't then fit in the car, where are you?
The space behind the supercharger toward the fire wall is very limited. To sandwich an inline intercooler- ie- not front mount , takes up space and that is very limited. I love the sound of this but. . . .they didn't request to have your car?

intercooler

nitrous/alcohol injection does the same thing as an intercooler for far less money.

seeing our fellow solaraguy throw money down the drain for something so futile in effort kinda dissapoints me.

i probably would have left this forum the minute i found it, if it werent for the big dogs

rizal is writing the dam book right now in my opinion

good luck with your intercooler setup, im not a strong believer but good luck. i hope you prove me wrong

Yea but it is not as hip as a front mount intercooler and He11 you are supposed to spend alot of money. I can't wait to see some pics of a front mount intercooler that will cool our cramped supercharger. I also can't wait to some pics of your car Gabe with a honking Jag supercharger popping out of the hood.

Until you blow the motor, right? the intercooler is much safer.
