TRD RSB creakin'.....

Postby SleeperSolara » Tue Dec 13, 2005 11:18 am

Yeah i found out what was the knockin' and creakin'.
Creakin' was from the lube dryin' out.
Knockin' was from the tie-rod thingy wit out a bolt, it came off some how.
But i got it fixed now. 8)
The grease you should use is "White Litum Grease" it works well.
And i would that when you have the RSB relubed i would thread lock the nuts that hold the tie-rod thingy to the RSB and to the strut.
Cause it took me about 30 mins to find the right nut.

I did it last night. I used the same grease and it shut that sway bar up! But I wouldnt have lock tited that bolt on the tie rod. My old ones were rust welded last time and I ended up striping the center part of the bolt that uses the allen key. I couldnt get it off after it was striped and has to cut it off. Then I had to buy new ones. That cost me like 180 bucks for two new ones. I actually cover them in some grease so I wont have that problem again. I know there is the risk of the backing out, but I did it anyway cause I would rather replace the bolt than another tie rod.

True, true.....
Mine were fine.
The only hard part was to bolt it back up again, cause i was workin' on tryin' to take off the rear passenger disc off, and was like might as well lock-tight them while the wheel is off.
Did it to both sides.
