Black Widow body kit

Black Widow body kit

Postby alext14 » Mon Jan 13, 2003 1:59 am

I found this Black Widow body kit online, looks pretty good, but I havn't actually seen anyone that has one of these. I was wondering if any of you out there bought a Black Widow body kit, and what are your reactions to it. Does it look good ? Is it only made for dual exhaust ? Is it better or worse then the TRD body kit ?

the front looks really good and it's the only piece that fits properly w/o custom fitting. i have the entire so-called black widow kit. i say so-called b/c the side skirts don't exactly fit. it's not only made for dual exhaust setups, but you prolly could have them compliment each other.

are you just looking to get the lip or the entire kit?

(sorry to double-post) btw, how much is that kit going for online?

also, mostly on flip's behalf, getting these kits means you are risking quality. these kits are made from fiberglass, not polyurethane like the trd ones. in addition, it will have to be custom-fitted (the rear bumper, at least) AND it will most likely crack if you hit a pole or somethin' since it's not as flexible.

that being said, take precaution in what you are gettin' yourself into. i have, and i am still awaiting install of mines.

I have a friend with a BW kit on his mustang. What a piece of junk, and the kit sucks too (LOL i hate ford  ) Anyways he got tapped by a kid in the parking lot and the whole bumer split apart and it falling off. He also bottomed out and snapped his side skirts. I don't reccomend

I think the kit is very nice looking and as long as you take care of it you should be fine. Don't have any regrets.

Postby Danny » Thu Jan 23, 2003 6:05 pm

extremedimensions.com this is non painted look they have not yet made an actual rear bumber for a solara all the ones purchases were not for solara so they have to be heated to fit the car, also there arent any side skirts for this car yet the ones you ahve are made for a different car the only peace available is the front here is a pic of it .. the side skirts are available too now, pictures posted within 2 weeks. the pictures you have seen on the website that was posted were done in photoshop.

Now I'm confused. I thought Ground Designs made the Black Widow kit, not Extreme Dimensions. Can anyone help me here? :o

Your right

Postby Octane SOlara » Fri Jan 24, 2003 6:45 am

Actually almost every company sells generic bodykits. Especially bodykits like black widow, buddyclub, and blitz. For example some companies call their generic black widow the "black spyder" some call it "spiderman"..Its the same mold that is just a rip off. They buy the original mold... make thier own. and sell it under a different name.
