But I don't have a clear idea of what offset wheels we can really run on our cars.

Am I correct in saying that 18x7.5 wheels say... 225/235 will need about a 35-43 or less offset and anything above that will rub.

Wheels are just one of those areas with cars I really don't know much about, so I was just wondering. I'm looking into getting 5zigen hyper 5zrs which are 18x7.5, there's a set on ebay right now for a decent price, but they're a 48 offset and I'm almost positive that won't work and will look a little funny. I dunno tho.

Thanks

If I recall correctly a 48 offset is pretty far...

recommend:

7" width +45 or lower

7.5" width +42 or lower

8" width +40 or +38 (will sit a little farther away from the struts)

hope this helps with your selection

Thanks guys, that post was before my time on here and couldn't find anything liek it searching. Now I know what I need instead of asking "will these fit" a million times.

I think that wheel offset guide along with the prodigy's guide to tire sizes in tutorials and any other threads involving wheel/tire fittment should be made into one big sticky.
