Someone told me that you can take the factory corner lenses out and put a heat gun on it to take out the orange reflector... then it will look just like the clear corner after market... Has anyone tried this??? And if so have you had problems with the lens fogging up.

Yeah you have to break the orange reflector. I have a extra set of clear corners if you want.

just buy some aftermarket ones, they will fog up but they are so freakin cheap you can just toss them and buy new ones, also you can put some clear sealant around them before you put them on and that should help with the condensation issue...

Yeah, I tried it. I got one of the corners pretty good, I didn't break the glass or anything and haven't had any problems with that one creating condensation. However, the other one on the passenger side, I broke the glass and I always get condensation, even with the clear silicone applied. Either way, just be careful doing it and get some silicone. But it's not a big deal if you break it, since aftermarket one's are so cheap.

On a gen 2, it's worth it, but for our cars clear corners are SO damn cheap, that I figure why even bother. About 30 bucks and the quickest install time of any mod I can think of. It was the first thing I did to my new Solara.

Make sure to get the Sylvania Silverstar corner markers. They have a silvery bluish tint to them so you don't have that stupid yellow color offsetting your sharp clear corner look, but they glow amber. It's all about those lights. They cost another 20 something dollars and for the difference are worth every penny.

Mine fogged

Postby bluesolara » Mon Jan 02, 2006 9:09 pm

My clear corners fog up... I think I'll just replace with some aftermarket ones. The previous owner made clear out of the stock lights.

Know any good deals for clears on a Gen1 2001?
