I'm just teasing man... sorry for messing with you...

The funny thing is that I actually use a garmin portable navigation system from time to time (it's my fiance's). They are pretty nice.

One warning though... the speaker that comes with the units cannot compete in any way with your stereo... if you want to hear the directions... the stereo has to be on pretty low.

Well he mentioned that he wanted a fixed one (not portable) and those intergrate with your factory radio.

Also, In my experience, the speakers on the tom toms, magellans, and garmins are more than adequate and as long as the stereo isn't blasting, you'll be fine

xSolarax, please give us a little more direction in price. They range from $750 - $2000

Well, my fiance's is a Garmin... I don't listen to my music loud, at all, and I have problems hearing the unit. Maybe it's hearing loss from playing in bands for so long, I dunno. hehe

Pioneer Avic D1

Great navigation system. Fixed unit. Replaces your Factory headunit. 6.5" LCD touch Screen. Also allows you to play CD's MP3's and Am/FM Radio while dirving.

You can get the GEX-P10XMT Nav Traffic Unit to get live updates on traffic. You have to pay a subscription but i think its worth every penny. With this Unit you also get XM radio. Of course subscription is required.

I just sold the Avic N1 System out of my sisters car along with the GEX-P10XMT unit.

But you can pick up the D1 unit from pioneer on ebay for about $1k and the Xm Nav Traffic for about $150.00 Brand New.

Not bad for the price IMO.

Hope that helps a little.

well i think i have just gone from wanting a navi system (something i've always wanted) to getting a set of rims... i know eventually i will get a nav system for the car but something just changed my mind about it right now... plus i think there is a company from europe that drastically improving gps prob won't happen for another year or so because they are still experimenting... they also have to get things approved to launch more satelites(whateva whateva)
