What's up Everyone?

I just gotta say this Solara-centric forum is one-of-a-kind. There's a wealth of information and tons of eye candy on here that makes me proud to be a Solara Owner! 8)

I've recently upgraded to a gen 1.5 Solara this past December and now that I've just graduated from college I now have the time and $$$ to play around with her...

And special thanks to HSakuragi, I've finally been able to get that coveted TRD kit I've been searchin everywhere for! :P

It may not be much, but it's a start I suppose.

Thus, my list so far:
- limo tint back/rear, medium on front
- TRD body kit (compliments of HSakuragi)
- Alpine D-310 headunit (and lovin' it.)

p.s.) about the lack of drop, I'm still on the fence about it...
p.s.s.) as the Newb, I'm definitely open to any tips or suggestions..!

Very nice ride Bro! Looks very clean. Like the HU.

The drop would make the wheels look bigger. A set of 18 or 19" rims would complete the look.

Keep up the great work.

Welcome.

Looks liek you're on the right track. Your ride is lookin much more sick than mine already, haha. You may or may not want to drop, it's all prefference. I'm planning on going 18's with a drop and kit on this car, my plans for my last solara before it wrecked were 17's with the TRD kit, no drop, but I've since changed my mind. If you have any doubts about the looks of it check out Kenny's car (indigosolara) or Samson's car (stock solara). I believe they're both dropped on 18's with the TRD kit, and their cars both look sharp as hell. There's some others floating around here too but I can't tell you specifics. datsurboi has a sharp lookin ride, Greg's ride Silverlicious (paladin06) is one of the nicest around. I could go on and on and on.

As I said it's all personal prefference, so look around at some rides and maybe you'll gfet an idea of what you'd like to do.

Any plans for performance mods?

thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

i'm trying best to create a picture in my head of what i want my Solara to eventually look/be like, so i don't go overboard. Likewise to say, i'm doing a lot of daydreaming! haha...

to be honest with you guys, it was a tough choice between the alpine d310 and the pioneer n/d-1. The cost was practically the same, save the pioneers came with a built in Nav system. The alpine requires a separate Nav brain which costs well over the price of the alpine HU itself! Ridiculous!

(i'll admit though, the alpine NVE-872a Nav and PXA-H701 are possible goals...)

In the end, it was Alpine's audio amenities that won me over. Some may think it's gimmicky, but i'm a total sucker for Time-Correction. If adjusted properly, it works great. From the driver's side, i have the audible illusion that i'm in the dead center of a room listening to music. :D

Oh, and the DVD player does run while the car is in motion. My buddy hooked me up with the clean install of the push button / toggle switch so i can activate "the option" on the fly! I'll post pictures pictures of that soon.

Rims

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Jan 08, 2006 12:15 pm

I used to have those on my 99 Camry but I did sell them and got Konig Unknowns. They had the Unknowns in a 20" that I could have gotten but the price of tire replacement for 20" are through the roof so I stuck with a 18x7.5 with 45 offset as well. Jon.
