ok so i took my car out to a mechanic to get my gauges installed. well i have an oil psi and volt meter gauge from autometer. there both electric and not mechanical. he says the sending unit on the oil psi gauge will not fit into the small hole. i was wondering if any1 else is running this setup and found a way to do it.

i had one heck of a time fishing the EGT probe in... i would assume its the double yellow wire?

if it is, then you just have to be patient and drill a hole through the pillar.

well the thing is the sending unit is about twice as big as the stock one and it just wont fit. im not sure if theres a way u can run another line into it with an adapter or something. im confused about the whole thing. if worse comes to worse im just gonna buy a trans temp or intake temp gauge. i dont wanna get a mechanical one in case the line happen to burst.

You need to relocate the OE sending unit and yours off the block. Use a high quality line suitable for oil pressure. (Try Earl's Plumbing http://holley.com/index.asp?division=Earls) They don't have a line listed specifically for O/P , but their tech support can help you choose one. Their quality is some of the best in my opinion.

(Earls Performance Plumbing technical support via phone Monday through Friday 10AM to 7PM CST @ 310 609-1602.)

If you can, use their swivel head lines and leave a little slack in the line to allow for engine movement. If you sensor is where the Gen2's is, then be sure to secure the line so it doesn't rub the belt.

Branch off the end of the line into a T-Block. Attach the OE sending unit to one side and the aftermarket one to the other side. This way you keep your idiot lights.

When you done, post up install pics and let us know what part numbers you used. (And how much it cost.)

Best of luck, hope this helped.

thanks all for the help. but im returning the autometer oil psi gauge and proly going to get a water temp or air/fuel gauge. i dont feel like messing with the oil psi thing anymore. the dual gauge pod is installed and so is the voltmeter(altho it isnt hooked up yet) and i'll have to say it looks nice. im gonna be returning the oil psi soon and need to decide which would be better. anybody having problems with their air/fuel gauges or water temps??

Anyone have a pic of where the OE oil pressure sensor is ? I'd like to run an oil pressure gauge sometime soon.

^^^ It's usually next to where the oil filter is. . . You should see something screwed in with a wiring harness on it

I'm not sure about Gen 1s, but the Gen2 OP sensor is on the front of the engine. (Pass side.) Check this link. DownToTheC helped me out by looking up its location.
