look at the manual for the install and check the handbrake input wire. is it (-) or (+)?

2) how are you reading the handbrake signal? i found a wire in the plug that goes to the gauge cluster that reads +12V when the handbrake is not engaged and +1V (instead of ground) when the handbrake is engaged. is this the wrong wire?
3) for those of you that have your starter in tach mode, where did you read the tach signal from. i tried reading from a plug in the ecu, but then it somehow got grounded out when i connected it to my starter unit, and my car stopped registering RPMs. I have since disconnected it and my RPMs are back thankfully, but I'm puzzled as to how to get a proper read.
1. i mounted my alarm unit behind the knee panel. makes no sense to mount it somewhere fancy (ex. behind the glove box) since most thieves don't break into a car with the intention of getting to the main unit anyway....
2. i don't even hook up that wire at the shop i work at. and i don't know any shop in Hawaii that does. we've had no problems here
3. sounds like you might have your connections crossed. use a MULTI-METER and locate the "Tachometer" wire. Should be Black/Orange behind the glove box. (use the meter, there's several wires of this color)
