I hear ya dawg about the money. I use Hyper Blues for my headlights and stock for fogs. The Fogs almost look yellow when compared to the headlights, which gives a unique look. The Hyper Blues were actually really cheap, about 15 bucks at Target. Hopefully they wont blow up on me :fadein:

I would suggest you get Silverstars ($40) for headlights and keep stock for the fogs. Bright fogs are so ironic IMO. Dont go for blue bulbs coz they only look cool and that's it. You can't see anything with it.

Suggestions

I have Silverstars all around and light output is increased, i.e. through fog the SilverStars cut through the fog better than the stock lights. If yellow was such a proven method of cutting through fog why would company's include 'regular' fogs i.e. OEM Solara? Jon.

Because the Solara ones aren't exactly fog lights. They were designed more for aesthetics than practicality. Form does not quite follow function for the Solara "fog lamps." They are too bright, as with many of the other OEM ones on other vehicles, to be fog lights.

What you ultimately want is less (yes, LESS) light in the fog, but not to the point where nothing's illuminated. Having more light would just make the huge wall of fog more visible. Try turning your high beams on in the fog, and you'll see what I mean.

Peter: The kit you were looking at is wayyy too blue. It'll defeat the purpose of having HIDs. If it's the color you're looking for, save yourself the money and just get some blue bulbs.

Secondly, it claims that the output is 3500 lumens. That's absurd! Even the most efficient capsules (the ones that are rated at ~4300K) only put out 3200 lumens.

Hope that clears things up for you guys.

Go with whatever YOU want... I would keep them stock until they blow out simply because the fog lights are just for cosmetic.
