would it be okay to use trd springs and just lower the front? That way I can get rid of the wheel gap and do it myself since the front seems pretty easy.

but the spring rates are completely different. The front would be so much stiffer than the rear, wouldn't I have a false sense of security. Especially when my rear outside tire lifts in a turn and throws my already screwed up geometry into an even worse situation. Not to mention the car would have a horrible ride, harsh on bumps in the front and gliding over the rear

Just want to be 100% sure before I do this

Yea my fronts have a huge gap on stock but with the back with passengers it dips a bit low, with lowering I think it might be a bit much. Rich I've been thinking of doing the same as you, and maybe later on when I have time this summer doing the rears.

I think using 1/2 the springs would be a bad idea.

just add a rsb and it should help compensate.

I wouldn't mix the springs up. If you wanna just make the car level with out too much of a drop, may i suggest: http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=22756

I know I may be biased, but its worth a look I think.

Actually now that I look at the pics, H-techs look like S-techs in the front, and stock in the rear. I posted the pics so everyone can see what Im talking about.

Yes, people on celica's and Corolla's have done what you seek to do (ie. drop the front only). they didn't feel any significant difference in ride quality. If you seek out corolla forms, seek out 'vamp' i recall he dropped his front rolla only. Its doable for the reasons you wanted. But you won't look dropped IMO. The rear is what makes our cars look dropped. rich look at my pics. When i park to a non-dropped solara, the front side...there is a ?? as to whats different...the rear side its 'understandably' dropped.

I think its a bad Idea. If you drop it, drop the whole thing. It would look like your trying to do the old muscle car thing were they jackup the rear ends. Although Im considering swaping out my teins in the rear with eibachs. I heard they drop the car more in the back and Im unhappy with the uneveness of my teins. The front is fine, but the back still looks a bit higher. Not to steal your thread but what do you guys think about doing that?

Dunno.. there's two stock Gen1 and 1.5 in my apt complex and both of their rears stick upwards  I look at my lovely Tein SS coilovers and i'm kinda low where there's hardly a finger gap on the rear as my coils settled in from a 1.5" drop on both sides. Debating to lower it more but I'd lose my mudguards from the speedbumps lol.

But anyways, yea the front does stick upwards more then the rear. Maybe u should have more fun with a coilover system to have some seasawing around to find yourself a sweet spot  but that's a outside opinion. GL with your setup
