Rear Thumping...

...and it's not what guys and gals think it's from. I've got 70K mi. on my OEM suspension, and am starting to hear thumping/popping noise when I hit a bump. It happens when I'm carrying two or more people in the backseat. I'm guessing that the rear suspension's giving way, and is causing the rubbing. What do you folks think? TIA.

i had the same problem with my civic i use to had, i brought it to the local STS, and they checked it out ( i thought it was maybe the struts or something) they said that it was something with the back bumper. i only had 33k on it so it couldn't have been the suspension..

Corey,

Does your rear suspension feel bouncy? If so, it's time for new struts. 70k sounds about the right time. Push down on the back struts from the trunk or on each side...and see if the car rebounds. If it has excess bounce, your struts are out for sure.
