tein and springtech springs

couldn't find any info about tein springs (not coilovers) or springtech springs using the 'search' function. so please bare with me. anyways, tein has a set of springs for the solara. they're priced pretty cheap at options auto. the drop is 1.7 in the fr and a 1.4 in the rr. also, this company springtech sells a set of 1.8 all around springs for the solara too. their website says they've been in the business for like 35yrs. any advice, suggestions, thoughts about these two springs? or should i just join that groupbuy with no-limit selling eibachs for $230 shipped? lemme know. thanks

Tein finally released the springs? Last summer (august) at our big Toyota/Lexus meet which had over 300+ cars and owners attending, Tein came out along with TRD, Tom's, and a host of other aftermarket companies came out to represent. Tein did tell us they were releasing springs for our platform...but they didn't tell us when they would release them. Tein is a very reputable company. I sure did wish they offered real coilovers for our platform along with the EDFC! :D Eibach or Tein...I really don't think you can go wrong with either of the two. I say go for the Tein considering no one has them yet. I have Eibach pro kit along with my Tokico struts and have been recommending it for a while now.

hey peter, i live in virginia, area code 22182. if you can get me the eibachs at a much cheaper price, i'll have my $$$ ready. to flipside909...at optauto.com, the tein springs are priced at $173 w/o shipping. i think that's pretty damn good for a set of tein springs. as far as i'm concerned, they look instock to me. also, the drop is uneven. 1.7 in fr and 1.4 in the rr. any reason as to why they set it up like that? i know it still looks uneven with factory specs, but how will the tein springs affect overall performance? i'm assuming tein knows what they hell they're doing, but i'm just curious. anybody with any input?? thanks.

I believe they used the staggered drop because the rear fender of the solara drops lower than the front fender. Here's my car on the eibach drop...it looks pretty fine on a 1.6 all around drop. My friend w/his 03 Corolla got a free set of springs from Tein from our big Toyota/Lexus meet. They needed a prototype and gave him free springs. His drop is a 2.3 but they have his staggered...lower in the front and higher in the rear.

if you lived in so cal, i coulda given it to you for 200 pick up. but since you live across the freakin country, shipping would be bout 35 bux. so you might as well go w/ the other deal.

crazy chris, i thought trd/eibach are the same? i keep hearing different things.

TRD uses eibach springs. The TRD are rated at 1.25" and the Eibach are rated at 1.6" but they are the SAME spring. Its just a difference in advertising. Its a 1.6" drop all around

would you even be able to notice much of a .3 difference? seems that visually it wouldn't make much of a difference...(well..at least it's a little less of a chance of bottoming out  )

Well I was going to get the Eibach pro kit with the Tokico blue's this upcoming week but should I look at these Teins instead of the Eibachs? What would the Teins offer compared to the Eibachs other than the drop height difference?
