WTB Cold Air Extension

Postby 2002greenhornet » Sat Jan 28, 2006 8:42 am

It seems that UPFD is out of business or something, as they won't return my phone calls and their website seems to be indefinitely "under maintenance."

So...Does anyone here have a UPFD CAE for sale?

They are still in business, they were closed for over a month remodeling. I just dropped my car off there on Wednesday (1/25). I know they were planning on going skiing this weekend, so they might of left Friday. I've left them many messages too, with no call backs. I don't think they chech their messages for some reason. Just try calling mid-morning and someone should answer. Since RJ left, there's no one on the phones.

No problem. The beastly sound can be a little too beastly for my wife (and me sometimes when I'm in downtown DC traffic and want to gun it--it can make pedestrians sh*t themselves). I love this thing, but I'm thinking to make it a little quieter. The guys at CPE say that adding an extension should make it a bit quieter and not hurt the gains at all.

Thanks wicked! 8) But I wouldn't do that if there was a granny or gramps around.

YEs, he'll need a coupler to convert the size. MY only concern is the heat shield, will it get in the way? Also wouldn't you suspect that the bends may be slightly off from positioning and size of either intake. I think it would help quiet it down more for sure tho, and may be a pretty big benefit in the summer months.

Actually, the CPE pipe is 3 1/2". As for the fit, it is definitely an experiment, so we'll see how it goes.

Got through to Danny at UPFD and he said they are doing a new production run on them, which will be done in two weeks.
