Hey you'all. I installed my Mile T lower grille on the inside of the vehicle to give it a bit different look. More pics in my CarDomain.

I'm thinking about adding a drop in K&N or TRD filter soon. Might do some Audio/Navi upgrades later on.

Thanks Bro, I'm happy with how it turned out, I wanted to keep visible the 4 bars on the lower opening and this seems to do the trick.

I was just looking at your page yesterday, and thought that the grills looked different... was gonna bring it up but I forgot :)

Oh, and did you paint those vertical supports to match your car? If I recall correctly, mine were black...

Thanks for the comments. The vertical supports came painted like that from the factory.

Hey, just wondering, how did you get the grill in there? I'm assuming from underneath? Did you have to remove any parts?

PS... something must have changed between the 04 and the 06... I don't remember the vertical supports being triangular... I guess I'll have to take another look at it...

The grill can be inserted directly by opening the hood and sliding it down infront of the radiator until it gets to the lower opening of the bumper - nothing to remove; I guess if you remove the plastic shields under the engine compartment it might help, but I didn't want to mess with that.

It takes a bit more work to install it this way, but if you like the looks it is worth the extra time.
I removed the chrome tape around the original grille, then I centered it from the inside of the bumper, then I attached a quick-tie on each of the vertical supports (I did the 2 center posts at the bottom, and the 2 outter posts at the top). After this I used a good quality silicone adhesive to glue the corners of the grille to the car - I glued it to the inside part of the bumper so no glue is visible.

On the 06 model the vertical posts are triangular shaped and are painted to match the car, I have noticed that in other models the posts are black. But the Mod should work the same for all.

Thanks for the compliments,

Test Grilles...

Postby PXLpainter » Wed Feb 08, 2006 7:04 pm

Okay - looks like I'll be ordering my grilles this week as well now...

Wanted to see what they might look like on my ride first so I Photoshopped them in:

Think I might try it without the Yota badge and just add the VVT-i or TRD badge next...
