Here's another stab at it... this time with the VVT-i badge only on it:

I like it better than the Yota badge.

PS... something must have changed between the 04 and the 06... I don't remember the vertical supports being triangular... I guess I'll have to take another look at it...

BOY! Was I wrong!

After this I used a good quality silicone adhesive to glue the corners of the grille to the car - I glued it to the inside part of the bumper so no glue is visible.

KansasSolara, what exactly do you mean by the "chrome tape"? Is that the border/frame that is on the grill?

Exactly. You'll see when you get your grilles. The frame comes off really easy; I just pulled a bit on it and it separated from the mesh, and then removed a bit of the silicone glue that held it on, actually the glue can be rubbed of with your fingers.

^^Maybe you should try to check one out in person, maybe at a local Solara meet?. I have been pretty happy with the product.

How does the top grille attach? Do you remove the original first or does it overlay the original?

Thanks - Jeff

three screws if I recall. Pop out the original, pop in the new. 10 minutes top unless you're transferring the emblem. If you want to see, look for pics of the Elmhurst Toyota Meet last July. I have the same car and have upper/lower MichaelT grilles on. (Though your PS work looks great.)

Well considering he makes them in the garage in his home you can't expect perfection but I think they look pretty damn good. I don't have a gen. 2 myself but I've seen the one on his car in real life and pictures of ones he sold on here and they look the same. Now as far as over priced a man's got to make some money on his product but I guarantee you he's not making very much on these. As far as man hours it takes to make them and to buy the materials to make them.
