South Bend clutch review
I’m not sure if some of you recall my post a few days ago after getting my new clutch installed. In it I mentioned that it was still slipping and the next day my engine light came on. Well it turns out that the engine light was pure coincidence because it had nothing to do with the clutch, and to tell you the truth, I don’t think it was slipping. It was a rainy day and I’m beginning to think the wheels were spinning out because I have not been able to duplicate the issue; on the contrary, I’ve been able to get the wheels to spin out even on the 3rd gear.
A few weeks ago I told you guys about South Bend Clutch (http://www.southbendclutch.com/) to possibly get a GB going since I talked to sales rep and he was interested in our forum(pending installation and performance results on my car). Well let me tell you guys, at 1st it takes a little bit of getting used to it but man, this thing is sweeeeeet!!! I have the OFE set up, which is a Stage 3. Normal price is $370 shipped I believe, but like I told you guys, if I can get more than 5 people interested I can probably get you a nice discount. I don’t get anything out of it, but if I continue to get more people interested, I might be able to get a sponsorship.
As far as the clutch goes, it is very soft, almost like stock and it handles awesome!! I’ve been able to gun it a few times and pass people like they are standing still. And most importantly, it hasn’t slipped at all! It takes a little bit of getting used to it at 1st, but once you get used to it, it grabs the gears real quick and the car feels as if it wants to take off right away. I am truly amazed on the shifting and I definitely recommend it. I am still trying to get used to it without gunning it hehe.
