Just a follow up. Check out AEMs webpage and look at their short ram intake dyno charts. They show similar if not more gains than their CAI couterparts.

Here's my 2 cents on the air intake:
If you could bolt on 10 free horse power Toyota would have done it at the factory. There is a big differency between a car sitting on a dyno with the hood up and a fan blowing on it and only running for 10 minutes at a time and a car with the hood down running for hours at a time with the A/C on in Phoenix when it's 115 degs out. Dyno numbers on a sales flyer are not the same as real world numbers. If you are dead set on bolting on horse power by installing an intake go all out and remove the head light and put the intake there. If you like the sound of the open intake and like to show off at Sonic on weekends then go for it. Sometimes you only have to look fast to win the race, but not often.

Pecora55,
I live in north phx but work just off Ray. I've been running at firebird for a long time (12years). I tune for a guy I work with, he has a pretty hott VW jetta that we got running low 13's. I need to do some work to the front end of my solara before I can run, it hopps too much. I usually run my corolla out there. On a good day it can run 10.8.
