GB: Gen 2 CPE MAFci System -- short ram intake w/ fuel mgmt.
Greetings everyone! I'm sure some of you have seen us around a bit. We're new the the Solara scene, but we're trying to bring you guys some good deals on some high quality products. And that brings us to this group buy...
Looking around the forums, I've found several threads about the CP-E product. One of the most informative threads is this one:
http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=18413
I'd recommend checking it out. I'll also do a quick summary of the product here as well.
The CP-E MAFci system is not just another intake. It's an intake packaged with a fuel management controller that is pre-tuned for your vehicle. What this means is that you not only get the advantages of a huge 3.5" intake pipe without triggering any CELs, but you also get the advantages of a properly tuned vehicle. Creating a similar setup on your own would be entirely possible, but finding someone to install and tune your fuel management system properly on a dyno could take some effort, and by the time you bought all of the parts and paid for the tuning, you could easily spend twice as much money. This product was purposely designed to be installed by you, in your garage in about an hour and a half to two hours. And when you're done, you get the power instantly. No more tweaking or tuning needs to be done.
So, the question is... If you could spend less than $500 and then with only 1.5 to 2 hours of installation time gain an average of 8.7 wheel hp and 9.1 wheel ft lbs (including that low end torque you are missing) (with peak differences of 10.3 wheel hp and 12.1 wheel ft lbs), would you do it? Well, it's time to find out...
Keep in mind that average gains means that the gain is represented across the entire RPM band. Many intake manufacturers only report peak gains to make their products look good, when that peak gain could only occur for only a small section of the RPM band. If you check out the link above, or the link below, you can find the dyno charts that illustrate what I am referring to.
MSRP: $469 + $8 shipping = $477
theRPMstore's price: $449.95 + FREE shipping
GROUP BUY PRICING
This group buy will run from February 16, 2006 through March 3, 2006.
5+ units (including Gen 1/1.5 units): $439.95 + FREE shipping
10+ units (including Gen 1/1.5 units): $429.95 + FREE shipping
5+ units (Gen 2 only): $429.95 + FREE shipping
10+ units (Gen 2 only): $409.95 + FREE shipping
I hope that is clear. The Gen 1/1.5 units are completely different, so they can't be included for the large discounts. However, I did want to provide some benefit to you guys for the Gen 1/1.5 orders. Essentially, you'll get the greatest discount for purchases of the Gen 2 systems, but if the Gen 1/1.5 guys buy a lot, you could benefit from that as well.
HOW TO ORDER
Use this link:
Order CP-E MAFci for Gen 2 Solara
When you check out, use the coupon code CPESOLARAGB to mark yourself as a participant in this group buy. The discount will initially show up as $1.00. As more orders come in, the discount will be adjusted appropriately. If you pay with a credit card, your card will NOT be charged until the unit is shipped. Additionally, if you place an order and the group buy does not succeed, you will have the option of proceeding with your purchase at theRPMstore pricing or cancelling your order.
Shipping time will depend upon the number of orders received. If we get a huge response, it could take up to 5 weeks for all of the pipes to be manufactured and coated, all of the kits assembled, etc. I'll be keeping CP-E updated on the progress so that they can get things started even as the group buy is in progress.
