Gotta Get myself a Birthday Present

Gotta Get myself a Birthday Present

Postby stund41 » Sat Mar 04, 2006 1:32 pm

Hey guys,

For my 21st Birthday I think I am finally going to take the dive and get myself a set of rims.

I know there is a ton of threads on wheels regarding fittment however I am much too lazy on this saturday afternoon to look through all of them. :D (sorry fellas).

Just wanted to know if a set of Diablo Lionharts 19 X 8 would fit on our Gen 1 solaras. They are wrapped in a 245/35/19 tire. I do understand that the fenders would have to be either cut or rolled or both. (that is not a problem.) Just wanted to know if there is anything else I should look out for. Such as spacers and if I need them or not?? and also preffered tire size for the wheels to prevent speedometer changes. (posted speed on speedometer is actually slower or faster than what you are really doing.)

I remember seeing that post but I can't remember what thread. Anything else you guys can think of?? Mind you, I am lowered so any important technical advice is greatly appreciated.

The wheels themselves are the black faced ones with the chrome lip. (I know they will be big and heavy, but I am going for looks and not performance for this. I think they will look awesome on my black metallic car with the blacked out tails and the clear corner fronts!!!!!

As always any advice you guys can give me is greatly respected and appreciated. (These solaraguys have never steered me wrong before!!!!) Thanks to you guys I am sure I will have a quick and painless installationn just in time for both my birthday and the spring!!! :D

My Opinion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Mar 05, 2006 6:59 am

I think you should get a set of 18x7.5 Konig Unknowns with 225/40 18 Yokohama Avid H4s. The tires/rims should have less than 6,000 miles on them, come with a 60,000 tread wear warranty, road hazard protection, and lifetime rotation and balancing at any NTB/Merchant's Tire/Tire Kingdom. The wheels should also come with metal hubcentric rings, splinedrive lugnuts and McGuard wheel locks. I also don't think you should pay more than $1200 for them. Let me know if you're interested :D . I think you should do your suspension first.

yeah...your konig wheels are nice but I was really looking for a black faced wheel to match the car. Personal I think the diablo's would look really good. Just posted this because I am lowered and I just wanted to see if they would not only fit, but what other precautions I would need to make this go smoothly. Any help greatly appreciated.
